I found this in a PDF on the original hoop bender website- the original hoop bender. There's a lot of stuff, so I just glean this part.

DO and DON'T and WHY

Many new greenhouse owners wrongfully believe that a greenhouse
requires a system or automatic sprinkler or misting system. Fact is that an automatic misting/sprinkler system will kill most of your plants. The reason for this is most hobby g/h’s contain many different kinds of plants in many different size pots. Not all of these plants will need watering at the same time; automatic systems do not know this and will over water plants in larger pots. Hand watering is still the best method unless every plant is the same kind and in the same size pot.

A simple water bed heater placed under a cheap single (beach type) air
mattress filled half full of water makes a great seed and cutting propagation table, you get four times the surface area of those expensive electric seed starting mats for about half the cost. Just set the control to the desired temperature and wait, these heaters are by their very nature safe around water. Many times you can find them at garage sales very cheap. NEVER EVER use a medicinal heating pad to start seeds, they are very dangerous, DON’T USE THEM.

Has, I looked through the catalog and they have various non-electrical-use connectors for EMC! Great for someone who wants to build gardening frames with cheap metal EMC instead of PVC.

Agree sanderson.  I was looking at this site a week ago and saw the 3/4 inch T connectors for my 3/4 inch EMT trellises.  Also, I plan to build about 6 - 2 ft x 6 ft beds raised up slightly off the ground to keep the roots out.  The moveable emt structures they describe would be perfect for making a couple and moving them to different beds as needed.  And maybe put one of those temp controlled air ducts on the north side of the EMT structure to allow heat to escape during the day.  Could also cover with tulle in summer or bird netting.  The extra width would allow the plants to hang over the sides without touching the plastic covering or the tulle.

Yolos, I was also thinking for tomato overhead support lines. Could put a tee and vertical pole in the middle of longer rows for extra support. I used PVC this summer but it sagged even on short runs.

Here is a trellis I built in 2012 using 3/4 inch EMT.  I attached the interior legs to the top bar using PVC t's.  It is still standing.  I did not need two inside legs to keep this from sagging, but the two inside legs worked because the whiskey barrel size pots fit nicely between the legs.  I have used this same trellis for tomatoes, watermelon, cucumbers and sweet potatoes.  Next time I build one, I will use the EMT t's and cattle panels.

I still am intrigued by those moveable hoop houses at this website.  My mind is just running away with itself with how best to do this.

The problem with this Forum is that there are lots of ideas presented and I want to try them all!
