Re: Winter Storms 2015-2016
Looks like the hurricane turned more easterly but the Atlantic States are going to get clobbered with rain. Hope it continues to turn eastward or CC may get a wallop. But it looks like the intensity of the storm will be decreasing so maybe it will just be a lot of rain if it does turn a little inward.

I like follow the Euro model for these types of storms as it is usually correct. In this case it has shown Joaquin going out to sea from the beginning. Yea!
Doesn't mean it won't change it's path at anytime though. Gotta be diligent.

Keep dry and safe - Joaquin looks to be quite bad for flooding.
I didn't even know about the Euro model until this week. It was interesting to see all the other models showing the storm hitting up the coast and the Euro the only one showing it going out to sea and within a few days all but a few models were showing otherwise.

At one point last night, we actually had thunder & lightning. Now the winds have picked up significantly! Glad we're not closer to the coast...
According to the radar, we're going to have heavy rain all day it looks like. I know we have a flood warning until late this evening.
Y'all on the coast & closer to this hurricane, be careful!

You poor folks in the lower south are getting womped with rain! I was just watching the weather and the forecaster said that you received between 13 to 18 inches yesterday in North Carolina around Charleston. That's amazing!
Our nor'easter is in day 5. The sun shines through the clouds occasionally and the winds are only 20 to 30 miles an hour instead of over 50. How nice! All in all the Cape received 4 much needed inches of rain, at my house anyway, so it's worth all the clean up waiting for me now.

How's everyone else faring?

Here we only got about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of rain, but not Joachin related, just the other front before Joachin came on for the East coasters. We needed it too. Overall sounds like we lucked out.

Water is seriously puddling in our yard. Thankfully we live (mostly) on a hill, so we won't get flooded. But we do have a flood watch/warning till late tonight.

Re: Winter Storms 2015-2016
We are in a mess in SC. Unfortunately we had a funeral yesterday, but may not have a burial for a week. I95 is closed from Florence SC to the I26 exit going to Charleston. I think that is about 70 miles. My son lives in Columbia, but can not get to his apartment in the downtown area. It is still raining at my house in Darlington. It is not just coastal flooding, but all over the state. I will never be happier to see the sun come out, whenever that is.
The Columbia station is WISTV.com and I am sure they have pictures there.

You folks in the area of impact be safe.

Re: Winter Storms 2015-2016
The sun is shining. Woot, Woot. Out to hang the sun shades on the fence to let them dry.
Hope those of you who got pounded with the torrential rains are recovering.
