Hello from Mobile Alabama
Hi, my name is Ron and I actually bought Mel's book when it first came out I think in the 80's but I worked a lot back then and had so much trouble with weeds that I lost interest in it and abandoned it. But now I have retired and found the new book with raised beds and am excited about starting again even though it is getting to be late summer. But here in south Alabama we have such a long growing season that you really can start anytime.
Once again, I'm glad to be here and glad I found Mel's new book.

Welcome Ron!
I envy you your long growing season. Then again, that's a long time to deal with things like bugs etc. that our encroaching winters sometimes kill off or calm down. Let us know how you manage!

Thank you all so much for the welcome and encouragement. I bought lettuce, cabbage, carrot, cilantro and spinach seeds today to get starts for my fall garden.
