Re: Tomato tale
Both of you had the right idea. The dressing was cucumbers, mint and parsley with lo-fat yogurt and a little hot sauce. The picture was my salad because I am a big fan of cucumber mint sauce. BTW the tomato was so good I had to slow way down and savor each bite. It was a Brandywine. The other half Sunday for BLT"s.

Re: Tomato tale
A tragedy! It died so young, and childless.
Let this be a warning to the other tomatoes!

Wow, John, that is a huge Brandywine! I have a few close to picking out there but nothing is completely ready yet. Looks delicious! And the dressing sound wonderful!

Re: Tomato tale
That sure looks good but a BLT with home grown tomatoes is my favorite.
The only thing better than that is another one.
I have never been able to grow one that big.

Re: Tomato tale
Yes sir, BLT's tomorrow!
I have several more almost that big but as they turn color the grasshoppers are relentless. I have one sitting on my counter that is almost ripe but the top on one side is eaten about the size of a 50 cent piece. It is ugly but I am hoping to get the rest of it ripe enough. I really hate those hoppers.

Re: Tomato tale
We have a monster sized grasshopper her call the Lubber. Thank goodness they haven't gone for the tomatoes. Whenever they find something they like it is eaten to the ground. Lubber
Years ago I tried using them for bait, nothing would eat them.
