Black pine sawyer beetles
A couple of days ago, I saw a weird bug on the outside of my kitchen window and shot three photos of it.
Well, it's been identified as the pest named above.
My question: Does it damage deciduous as well as evergreen trees? Or pine raised beds?

Check state university bug guides. They'll tell you everything you need to know, including control measures and their timing.

I did Google this question, but found no mention that these bugs harm other plants. However, I did want to be sure.
Central Oregon Gardeners did answer, finally, that my garden will be safe.

It seems that the only likely targets on my property are two pine raised beds, and possibly my deck, which has been deteriorating quite rapidly.

The only mention of harm to cut wood that I read was about freshly felled pines for lumber. I would think termites and wood beds on the ground would be a bigger concern than the beetle, but I am just guessing.

So far, I haven't heard of termite problems in my particular area--probably due to the (usually) dry climate and (generally) cold winters.
