Over the last few days, I've been doing a lot of archive diving on our forums, trying to learn as much as I can.  Last night, I came across several posts mentioning GrowVeg.com's Garden Planner - the same one recommended by the Old Farmers' Almanac website and Mother Earth News. After having tried several other planners and found them insufficient for whatever reason, I tried out the GrowVeg Planner.

Zowie Oh Me Geez, I love this thing!!  It's going to make planning out everything I want to do for our property so much easier!

I'll make updates to this thread as Plan things change, and will get a thread started in the Gallery at some point soon.

Our entire plot:
The trees aren't nut trees, but are placed to show where we have shade.  We also have a LOT of pine trees and kudzu, to the extent the lower half of our property is impassable (for now).

My back patio garden, pre-SFG:
This shows what I'm starting from.  My plan, between now and next spring, is to change everything over to the recommendations in SFG 2ndEd.

Hmm... when I click on it and go to the photo site, it's so small I can't really see anything. There doesn't seem to be any way to blow it up, at least from Firefox.

I can't Publish our full plot to the GrowVeg website, because it's over 93'.  To compensate for that, I printed them as Adobe PDF, then converted them to PNG via Adobe Acrobat.

Even at that, the images were too large to upload directly, so I set the size to "wallpaper" in the image uploader.

As I continue to make progress, I'm going to make smaller size "Plan Pages" for each area of our plot as I build it out.  As long as I can keep the page size smaller than their 93' limit, I can just link to the full-size image on their site.

This is mainly so I can have a visual record of what I started from as we make progress on our SFG journey.

I'm a poor note-taker and an unreliable journal keeper.  When we started the first-of-the-month updates on the forum, the incentive to post pictures eventually evolved into a visual record keeping routine that I'm pretty faithful about adhering to:

On the first of the month, I walk the same path around my gardens, taking pictures of the boxes from the same perspective, in the same order each time.  That way, if I'm looking for a picture of a particular box, I can find it quickly.  It makes it easy to watch progress throughout the season, and makes it easy to go back to past years for a reminder of how I did things, or to see what changes I made and when.
