juicing with spearmint
I use this sites receipes https://juicerecipes.com and you can sort by ingredients. But there is no spearmint receipes. Any thoughts on substituting spearmint for peppermint?
Anyone have any receipes for juicing with spearmint they can share?
Thanks,
Stephen Rager

Re: juicing with spearmint
Hi Steve,
At the bottom of your link there is an option to search by ingredient. Peppermint is listed as an ingredient option.
https://www.juicerecipes.com/ingredients/
I am sure you could substitute spearmint or other mints.
In general fruits and vegetables used for juicing have a fairly high water content. Mint does not have much in the way of water.
Just glancing through the list of combinations I noticed that items with a low water content are paired with high water content fruits and vegetables as a flavor enhancer.
You can certainly use your mint combined with other fruits and vegetables for a lovely, fresh addition. It would also be great in fruit smoothies.
Hope this helps.

Yes you can substitute spearmint for peppermint and vise versa. My boys eat both straight off the plant. I love putting the leaves in hot water with some sugar to make peppermint/ spearmint tea. If you add ice its really refreshing in the summer.

For me, during this time of year, the best use of spearmint is in either a mojito or a mint julep as the ponies run by on the first weekend in May!
