Upper South: Winter Savory

A friend of mine gave me a seed packet she received from a friend that's all in German and it turns out that it's winter savory! I'm excited about trying to grow it, I've only found summer savory and even that is rare around these parts. Has anyone ever grown it?

That is funny. I have a seed packet of summer savory. I planted 4 squares and while assorted things came up, I have no idea which is the savory! I visited a local herb farm and they were all sold out of summer savory, but had winter savory left.

I was in North Carolina a couple of weeks ago and there was tons of summer savory, and even winter savory, at the state farmer's market. I didn't buy any, hoping that mine was going to come up. So far only two of them are showing signs of life, of the 18 I planted.
