DIY PVC Grow Light Stands - YouTube
I'm pretty jazzed about all the super easy (looking) YouTube videos on how to make grow light stands. I have a hard time deciding which "model" to build. I'd like people to post pictures on here of their DIY grow light stands.
I'm torn between Gary Pilarchik's version and KSRVideo's version. The all use the same 10" length of PVC but cut into different sizes for different configurations. They all dismantle with ease for stores and they all look very cool!
I can't post the links from this computer but they were very easy to find. I'll post a picture after I make mine - my recipe will probably be KSREVideo's version. Please let me know what you all think!
I most happy that I don't have to spend $350 on a ready-made one from Harris Seeds!!

Yolos, if you ever feel like treating yourself, I recommend these things.
It's not something I would usually consider buying, when a decent slip knot on cord or some scrap chain would work. But I received a pair as a free gift when I bought a grow light, and I love them. Quick and easy to set up and use. I'm gradually adding them to all my hanging lights.

Wow!! That's what I'm aspiring to! The one I'm making holds just one shop light. Yours is tres chic! Very impressive!!!

Boffer, Can you explain how these are actually used with shop lights. Is the diameter of the clip large enough to clip on to a 1/2" id PVC pipe? How many 2-per-box would I have to buy for four 4' shop lights?

Thanks for the suggestion Boffer. I built the bottom layer of the above PVC plans last year. The shop lights with 4 bulbs looked like a better value to me so that is what I used. What a mistake. It was heavy enough to be unwieldy. So about a month ago I purchased some of those things and what a joy they are to have. As I said above, I love these things but beware. For those of you with immovable shelves, the clip at the top that clips onto the upper shelf and the clip at the bottom that clicks onto the light plus the black mechanism that acts like a ratchet, combined are approx. 5.5 inches in length. Therefore, if you have an immovable shelf above the plants, and it is not far enough above the plants, you could have a problem with there not being enough room for your plants under the lights.
I would assume that different sets have different sizes of clips, but you will still loose some space under the shelf by using these.
Sanderson, the clip itself (at least mine) will not clip onto a piece of PVC due to the size of the clip. What I did was to tie a wire around the PVC and then clip onto the wire. You could also wrap the line around the PVC and then clip onto itself below the piece of PVC. They usually come two mechanisms per pack (set). So for one light you would need to buy one set. For four lights, you would need 4 sets.
