Where have you gone already? I think Home Depot has a humus/manure compost mix. I just made sure to buy different brands of compost, since I couldn't find more than the mushroom, manure and humus compost.

I was able to get the three things Shocks20 mentioned at the Fridley Home Depot: Moo-nure, the humus/manure mix, and mushroom compost. Lynde Greenhouse in Maple Grove had a grass/leaves type compost that I think was made from the county yard waste site nearby. The Mill's Fleet Farm up in the Osseo/MG/Brooklyn Park area (where 81 meets 169) had a different brand of manure compost.

Good luck!

Thanks! I was able to get the humus with manure and the mushroom at Home Depot, and got plain manure compost at Menards. I think I will start with that also add coffee grounds from the coffee shop as a mulch on top. Compost sources near twin cities??? Icon_biggrin

Also, if you have room in your yard, start your own compost bin so you have that to use in the future! Compost sources near twin cities??? Icon_biggrin

Hi gang, I know this is an old thread but thought I'd update for anyone who's searching "compost Twin Cities" like I was! I called The Mulch Store (http://www.mulchstoremn.com/) and spoke with someone who told me that the compost at their Empire Township/Rosemount location is made from grass, leaves, and food scraps, so I'm thinking that's a good mixed source. It has to be the Rosemount location for the blend though- the compost at their other 3 locations is just made from yard waste. Hoping to get my box set up this weekend!
