Gotta admit it, we all like pictures.

The raspberry bush, with tons of flowers. We have a bumble bee colony under the bush, so I'm looking forward to a lot of raspberries this season! I was trying to get a picture of one of the bees, who have a cool orange stripe, but they were camera shy.

A prairie rose. This is the first year it's bloomed. We had a tree shading it, but later last summer, a massive branch fell off, and now it gets enough sun.

The strawberries, as well, are now blooming and fruiting. We've eaten several already

The mystery squash is doing well. My husband can never just pull it up and compost it, he always has to let it grow. It's always a different squash every year! It's been pumpkins, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, and who knows what it's going to be this year. Any guesses? (no flowers yet to give us a clue)

The first tomato blossom is always exciting!

Radishes! I had them with lunch today.

My youngest child's 3*3. She loves corn, and was so happy to harvest some last year that she planted 3 squares this year!

Peppers, kale, beans, lettuce...

...and more mystery squash!

This little burb was sitting beside the strawberry garden, quite unafraid. I thought she might have been hurt by one of the cats. She let me ruffle her breast feathers with my finger, and then flew away.

That is so cool!

For real! I wasn't sure if she was having us on! I can't imagine a bird letting anyone do that.

I've only had one other wild bird allow me to touch it. A rural friend from the area who has a lot of chickadees says he's had them land on him if he's sat still enough.
