Rain coming for Middle Southerners
Hi all my fellow Middle Southerners (and anyone else who is interested),
Nasty rains are predicted. What, if anything, are you doing to prepare? I'm dreading a fungus attack.
My daughter found the first hornworm of the season yesterday. He was on one of my eggplants. I guess summer truly has begun.

Re: Rain coming for Middle Southerners
I will believe it when I see it actually coming down on my garden. We have had thunder bumpers all around us and only 1/4 inch rain the last week. I am tired of watering.

Ha ha yolos. Yes it has just been that way. However, Ken Cook has been making a fuss on channel 5 weather... so I'm bracing myself nonetheless. .
We had a cell pass over us around 1:30, and we got a nice dousing. Glad I held off on watering for today.
.
However, with the hot weather we were having, I've had to at times water twice a day. The reservoir on the EarthBoxes are sometimes bone dry by mid-day. Tomatoes and peppers are sucking up water like a sponge. On the positive side, the fruits are getting nice a plump (still green though).

When I got home from work today, I noticed we received about an inch of rain. Yea.

Well, that was much ado about nothing for us... as usual...
Seems like everything just moves around us up to within a mile or so. But we're getting next to nothing.

My sister lives in Athens and the same thing happens there. She calls it living in a protective bubble. I told her to keep it watered and that just getting thunder and lightening nearby helps with nitrogen release. (A DH factoid. Hope that's right.)
