My baby asparagus has brothers!
I planted 12 crowns and now I have 8 beautiful baby boys! I'm such a proud mama!

Yes, GWN, that's what I've heard! I planted Jersey Giant 2 year old crowns. Wasn't interested in having to pull babies out every year from the female seeds.

Just an update... ALL 12 of my crowns came up and all of them sprouted several spears, which then turn into beautiful fern like plants. I'm so excited, I can't wait to see how they do next year? Since they were 2 year old crowns, does that mean I can harvest a few next year, since that technically is year 3, or should I wait? I know, I know, I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
