Fabulous site to determine when to plant
I sent a post yesterday telling about free seeds. Then this morning had more time to explore the site. Follow the link "what and when to plant" on the left, put in your address, and you'll get extremely specific planting info for your location worldwide. I've bookmarked for future reference.

Frost Dates
Thank you for the resource. Unfortunately for my city, they have the wrong first and last frost dates (by about 2 months each way). I do like the table of information though and I may just copy it to Excel and adjust the dates manually. I will email them to let them know the issue.
If you do use this guide, I would suggest you just double check the frost dates first!

Re: Fabulous site to determine when to plant
What I discovered is they seem to be using the last and first real frost dates, not the average. For my area, our average last frost date in Spring is March 20, but the last date we've ever had a freeze is April 15th (6" snow 3 years ago), which is the date they are using. Ditto for the fall. So the way I am using the data is to take their suggested planting date as the median date, which then makes sense -- for example, I plant bush green beans from 3/15 to 5/15. The first I play a bit of Russian roulette as they might get frozen out, and after the latter, the summer heat does them in before they produce.
