Holla from the San Antonio, TX Apartement Garden!

Well my garden is quite on a small scale due to space, but I love it, I lost a few plants my Alaskan snow peas and my lemon Cukes (but I snuk another seed in...we'll see what happens. My tomatoe seeding is doing great, my Spinach is a slow, but coming along. My lettuce is doing well. Had some type of worm like catipillar eating my Romaine, Kale and Collards, but I caught him and slam him to the ground! (got a lil excited on that..lol). Then went crazy with the Neem oil and Diatomaceous Earth! My lemon tree is doing well with lots of blossoms and my Morro Blood orange tree is coming back. My Sequoia's are doing good and absolutely nothing on my Ozark strawberries, but I am holding out. That's about it so far.

Ok here it is almost the end of May and Im finally sharing updates Smile I started out with two boxes 4'x8' ft boxes, added one more 4'x8' box (still empty waiting for the salad fixings), 2 1'x8' boxes, one of these is a 10 inch deep box for root veggies, and two beds that I ran out of milled lumber and used split logs for a border (these beds are 2x14 ft and 3x7 ft We have also expanded the garden ( I love my husband ) put the compost bin in with 3 sections. Our 16 yr old worked for me (paid job) to set up a lean to made from t posts and chicken wire for a roof for the youngest. We plant to add 2 more 4x4's for two of the boys.

I have so many things planted, all written down. I love basil and have a few varieties, cinnamon, lemon, spicey globe, purple opal, thai to name some . Tomatoes, tomato jubilee, lemon boy, creole a few given to me I dont know what they are, I love this I will have a great surprise each time, a couple Im looking for are a black cherry tomato and a green zebra ( Im a little kid with this stuff ) and peppers, cardinal turns from purple to red, rainbow mix, cajun bell, orange and yellow. I do have some squashes and melons, corn, potatoes, onions, garlic too.

This is the beginning of the new garden area, we moved it to its permanent spot this year. This was in April this year. My husband cleared the pines here as part of our logs needed for our home we are building.

The new garden area fenced now with the boxes put together and in place. First box is store bought soil. Second box well that was a problem child, because the parent didnt know what she was doing. Its coming along now though.

Compost bin is the edge of the garden extended. My 1x8 boxes were next to the fence before.

This is the lean to we made for the youngest to have a place to sit in the garden. We will grow all sorts of veggies that vine.

I am so encouraged this year !!! I found Mel's book when we were going on vacation at the first of March. I bought it to read on the drive and I was so excited. I was fretting getting home from vacation to clear and till, make my rows and walk all over my soil !! ugh a rama. And look at today I am in heaven, my "Victory Garden" is growing.

Thank you Tim, I did like your video update as well. I like the video updates, its nice to see things in "real time" so to speak. I didnt get my nasturtium seeds this year until I saw the video, I had forgot about them until you mentioned them in the video. They are in their peat pots now. Those will be a part of the forts and tee pees cover too.
Thanks for the thread Tim, I love watching folks progress as well, it encourages me.
