Mom's tomato problem...
My mom called this morning and said that she is having some problems with her tomatoes. She said they are all wilting and drooping. She lives about 3 miles from my house. Earlier this week we did have some heavy rains and my plants took a beating.
I had to go out and stake some of my plants because they were top heavy and leaning way over but after the rain stopped they bounced back and look very good.
Hers, on the other hand, are not doing good. She took these pics this morning and I told her I would ask around and see if anyone has any ideas. They are not in raised beds and my step-dad generally does very well with his garden. Just a couple of days ago she said things looked great but then very quickly this happened.
Any ideas?

Re: Mom's tomato problem...
looks like wilt. Google tomato wilt. I think its a fungus. But I'm not sure how to treat it.

Tomatoes
I'm in Houston and our section got 11 inches of rain in 2.5 days. It looks to me like the downpours beat the heck out of the plants. I have noticed that after one of the heavy rains, my plants look droopy, too. And I do have yellow leaves, especially on the bottoms of some of my tomato plants - this can be caused by too much water. After a week with no watering - they pick back up again and look normal. I also think those tomato plants need some extra support, i.e. stakes, cages, etc. to help brace them during all the wind and rain we've been having.

What is that plant with the very
large leaves in your mom's garden? Sorry I don't have answers to her problem.
