Fine root hairs discovered in my compost! Empty Fine root hairs discovered in my compost!

After I saw Jimmycee's root hair problem in his sfg bed I discovered the very same thing in the bottom of one of my 5 compost heaps, so far..  Can anyone tell me if they've used an inexpensive fix to lay at the bottom of compost?  All I can think of at the moment is to put very thick layers of cardboard at the bottom every time I start a new pile and hope it lasts a year.   Someone on youtube used large industrial strength aluminum pan type things as a permanent fix against root invasion in their compost.  I certainly don't have anything like that laying around...

I have a similar situation but I don't really feel it is a problem. In my case the compost doesn't sit there for ages and ages. There is incredible value of having the pile on the ground. It allows for bacteria exchange and the worms can get in and do their duty.
Put a pallet down before you turn the pile.

Yeah! that's simple enough. Thank you.  Yeah mine will be used and not sit around for ages either.
I suppose I could gather up all the broken branches out back for nearly the same effect.

I put a layer of leaves down before creating a new compost pile. I also spread them around the pile so I don't have to walk in mud when I'm out there. I don't have roots coming out from underneath but I do have an issue with  small twigs or branches in the pile starting to leaf out. They are removed the first time I turn the pile.

I love composting! It's always something new.

Oh ok  thanks, that's good too.  I certainly have no shortage of leaves.  Between leaves, branches, or a pallet I'm feeling better about this issue.
