I live in Central Oregon and have already planted peas and beets, with Asian greens, spinach, lettuce, radishes, broccoli, etc. to follow.

Hello,

We're in Tacoma, Washington.

Hello,

Got both the 2x6 boxes built and filled and just for giggles planted a few boxes for a small late crop on the 5th. Looked today and we have little lettuce and radish sprouts coming up. I hope more grows before the cold (cool?) weather gets to us full time. Smile

thanks

Good luck!

Get some row cover and some lettuce will grow, or at least survive in good shape, all through winter, as will some other leaf and root and legume crops. You might find it a fun experiment to see what you can do as the cold starts creeping in.

cheers  It's always exciting to see them stick their heads up!  As for planting timing in the PNW, you won't know the perfect time to plant until 30 days after it's come and gone.  My last planting is only a week ahead of you, so we'll keep our fingers crossed together!

Welcome, Vash.
I agree with Mark.  Try something, anything. As they say, it's only seeds, and you may be pleasantly surprised.  When the real cold comes, then mulch it for the winter and the mulch will protect your soil and add nutrients.
Now you will see how how we just long for spring to arrive, so make the best of it before Old Man Winter hits.Very Happy

Hello Kelejan,

Thanks! I'm pleasantly surprised how quick the radishes are coming in. I'm thinking 2 squares may not have been enough.  Razz

My Wife has set the extra challenge of growing pumpkins alongside the watermelons next year, so we're plenty excited for the new growing season.  sunny

thanks

Vash, try seeding radishes one square (16) each week, otherwise you get too many radishes all at once.  I speak from experience, having too many ready all at once and not being able to eat them all. Very Happy I am now following my own advice.

Vash, Now all your DW has to decide is which variety of pumpkin to grow! There are quite a few from which to choose.

Hello Sanderson,

I believe that my wife has decided on the New England Sugar Pie variety. Small, sweet and good for pie.
