I like what you are doing for the bees. This year I am also going to plant many more flowers just for the bees.  I had a birthday last week and I asked my friends for flower seeds. I had a lovely response.

Thanks everyone has to see may have some photos of the raised bed from last year.

The fire mountain Pieris is new this year, have (2) 3 years old plants the bees are supposed to like them. From what I read they grow to be very large so plan to put them behind the Raised bed in corner. To make some room by the fence may have to move the Peonies.

I am in zone 5a in Illinois looking forward to spring march 21st and frost free by April 30th counting you farmer’s almanac and so are my bees.

The plan as they say is evolving at the moment plan to buy 3 of these large ones at Sams club and see how I can position them around the raised bed so be a big a SQF garden

The SQF boxes found some at Sams Club, What weird is it says 60x60X6” Can’t find the item on the internet so must be a special (all others are 42x42) which is what got me thinking about my raised bed as it would be easy to make a grid and put a walkway down the middle. Have the 2 foot reach as mentioned to the left and right halves already have a drip system though it barley works

I'm in zone 5a but my last frost date is May 15th.  I know we get some frosty nites between the 1st and the 15th.

Maybe due to being on the Lake Michigan side?

A gardeners microclimate (their particular yard) can be different from their neighbor's down the street.  Placement of buildings and trees to block wind, breezes over the water, sun bouncing back from a close building, whether on a hill or in a valley area.  We all have to really figure out what happens in our own gardens. 
I've been journalling mine for 4 years noting daily high and lo temps, last frosts, last heavy frost, first frosts in the fall and so forth.  That helps when I make out my new garden plan the following year. 

For a new gardener, you can go by the charts the first year but be ready with extra blankets and towels to cover crops if needed in a hurry, and write things down.  Mine is a small spiral notebk 5.5 x 4 inches and it lasts the whole season with pages to spare for special notes on crops and placement plans of boxes.  Note: the commercial frost covers protect down to 28F, so be ready with extra covers if its going to be colder.

Keep records and enjoy the experience.
