Top Hat Watering

I have a drip system set up for my SFG beds and it works great for everything that is on the same level. My top hat box that holds my carrots doesn't quite get enough water and the square on either side of the top hat also suffers a bit or gets more water than everything else. I am planning on just connecting up some drip lines just for the top hat.
Before I do that I was wondering if anyone else has run into this. How do you guys handle watering with you top hat boxes?

H TX, Good question. I am adding a couple squares of TH this year. I was thinking I would leave the driplines as are and just hand water the tops until the roots get long enough. I also use a thin layer of wood chips against evaporation. Not enough to decompose, just enough to shelter the soil.
