MY VENEER MANGO GRAFT TOOK!
After many attempts, my latest mango graft took! The failed attempts were a totally different type of graft called whip graft. This was a veneer. Now we can have the same sweet mangos that our neighbor has.

Ambitious stuff! Good for you!
It's really hard to beat mangoes, in my book. They're so delicious ripe, and great pickled either when green or partly ripe.

Re: MY VENEER MANGO GRAFT TOOK!
Another friend who gave us great mangos, owns the mother tree of this seedling. Now I want to get a scion from the mother. The many previous attempts were from that tree.
BTW, I have to give credit to this video where I learned to do the veneer...

Congrats on your success. I'm a little jealous of having mangoes right off the tree!
UPDATE on Mango Graft
It's amazing how well they took and how much the branches have grown in eight months!

YAY!!! I wish I could grow Mango - they are my obsession, LOL! My husband says that I "am spending my life in search of the perfect Mango!" The only problem is once you eat it the search begins again... ;-)
Re: MY VENEER MANGO GRAFT TOOK!
Dstack, Wow! Congrats. You deserve some success what with the nematodes and muriatic acid from the neighbor. Home made mango ice cream?
