November Avatar: Foods from the Garden
How about a food shot for November Avatars. I know lots of people will be making food with their harvest this month like pumpkin pie and green bean casserole! Any thoughts?

Re: November Avatar: Foods from the Garden
This avatar for Nov is some of the jars of canned sweet pickled beet root I have done.
I was going to use a pyramid piccy initially but it might encourage people to stack their jars on each other which is not a good idea.
They are :-
Sweet pickled beetroot
Tomato pulp with the seeds
Sweet gentle red & green toms plus red & green capsicums chutney.
Sweet pickled crystal lemon cucumbers with spiced white vinegar and a bit of dill .
It looks like I'll be visiting the fruit & veg wholesalers in the near future for a couple of trays of tomatoes ....as we only have three jars of tomato pulp left ...
Suddenly our diet has started to include lots of pulped toms .

Re: November Avatar: Foods from the Garden
Oh, so pretty, David. All labeled and ready for storage.
Veggies waiting to go in the oven for roasting:
All the veggies but the cauliflower & brussel sprouts are SFG. Toss in coconut oil, spritz with Dr. Braggs Amino Acids, throw on a couple of veggie meatballs, a few sinful tater tots, roast and voila!

Re: November Avatar: Foods from the Garden
Tricia ,
All that looks good isn't always good
Out of 24 jars nine failed to seal first time , my investigations when turning the rim of the jar onto a sheet of frosted glass showed that six of the nine jars had four business cars thicknesses or greater gaps in places on the rims ...
No wonder they didn't seal not even a clip over & well boiled seal could close the gaps .
The makers, " Kilner " are supposed to be sending me replacement .
I will migrate to using various sized Weck jars with glass lids and seal rings some time in the future .

Steams some bok choy with a garlic soy sauce for dinner last night. Not much left in the garden but this sure was good.

Re: November Avatar: Foods from the Garden
camprn, this is fast becoming one of my favorites. It is very versatile in any stir fry but cooked alone as a side is a really nice option. I am not much for greens but this is really good.
