Frost last night according to my house sitters. They posted a picture of the last tomatoes on Facebook for me to see and I don't know how to get it to the forum. About 2 weeks early by the average. How is the rest of the lower south faring?>

I'm in the lower end of the lower south. We had a light frost last night. The fair will open this week, so the temps always fall, but we were not expecting any frost til mid-November or later. It will prob. frost again tonight, so I guess I'll check the garden tomm. I still have limas and green beans, sw. potatoes and peppers, we'll see.

We hit 31 last night and that finished off my warm weather crops for sure. Cole and lettuce crops are doing just fine though. Very early for us to have this type of temps.

We were blessed here. There was spotty frost around, but our garden was untouched. I picked all the rest of the butter beans, wax and green beans, and okra, thinking it would be the last harvest. But, with at least of week of decent weather forecast, we may get some more. I had one volunteer tomato that is loaded with little green tomatoes that were too young to pick, even for fried green, but maybe now we'll be able to get some. Also, it's supposed to be dry, so maybe we can get the rest of the sweet potatoes without it being quite so muddy. Beets, rutabagas, collards and broccoli are coming along nicely, along with some garden peas. A rabbit got my kale, but some of it is coming back. I'm grateful that we were missed. It's usually mid to late November before we have a frost.

We got a little patchy frost.  My volunteer tomato looks a little droopy.  My marigolds still look beautiful.  The artichokes look okay.  Everything else was picked in anticipation of 30 degrees which I don't think we got.
