I get some of the best laughs from this site.  Contemplating jumping out of the car for a banana peel.  That does it.

Move them around regularly and it makes the birds think they are alive and then they leave the berries alone. I need to get some for my tomatoes!

Fall in love with earthworms. I love you

Tell the self appointed garden protector (german shepherd dog) to STOP chasing the pollinators; bees, wasps, etc away. Evil or Very Mad

PS As far as I know, there are no snakes in Hawaii. However, I'm sure with today's nuts, there must be some contraband boas, etc., that will be let loose. Sigh.

Picking up worms from the roadway after a heavy downpour with the sun about to fry them and putting them into my garden.  I have done that several times over the years.

You try crossing the the road with the sun beating down on you; if you are a worm.

And naming each worm.  Luckily they are all named Fred.

Feel soul-crushing guilt when it's time to thin the seedlings.

Sticking excess seedlings anywhere around the yard "just in case."

Slowing down to hand the utility guys cutting down trees on the side of the road a pre-made index card with your address in case they have extra woodchips.

Having a hard time pulling some of those weeds in the garden because their flowers are so beautiful and beneficial to pollinators.

Hoarding the seed catalogs and ogling their glossies. Even if you only need 2 packets of seeds this year.

LOL, I was walking my grandson home one day after a rain and picked up a worm and brought it home.  I wasn't so creative as to name him though!  Fred, I like that one!

NHGardener, you had me chuckling.  I identified with all but the index card item (and the only reason I didn't identify is that I hadn't thought of doing this yet!).

Here's my well known problem:  I ogle those seed catalogs even though I only need 2 packets of seeds... and then I order about 25 packets anyway!

That's one of the joys of this forum.  We're all nuts and we have lots of friends who are just as nutty as we are.

Anyone have ideas about what the heck to do with all those probably expired seeds?

Reminds me of a story.  Little old lady is visiting her doctor and says "my family thinks I'm crazy because I just LOVE pancakes."

"Oh", the doctor says, "I love pancakes too, that's not crazy."

"You do?" says the little old lady "You must come to my house, I have trunks and trunks full of them."

I'm not up to trunks full but I have a heck of a lot of seeds that I will never use and might not be viable.

K, I hear you about that, it's hard for me to give up seeds even when I have too many, but I'm starting to think I should give them up at seed swaps and seed libraries, because they do expire. It probably wouldn't hurt to rotate your seed collection like you do your canned goods (you all ARE canned goods hoarders, right?) before expiration dates.
