Sunflower trellis?
I have read somewhere that you can plant sunflowers toward the back of a trellised garden, and that the vines will actaully crawl up the sunflowers and then onto the trellis. I would imagine this looks so great, and was planning on trying. Anyone done this or (even better) have pics?

Re: Sunflower trellis?
Hi,
I have had my beans leave my trellis in favor of the sunflower, which is not really what you are asking about. I would think you would need to pay close attention to your vining crops or they would be at the top of your sunflower in no time flat. At the top of an 8 foot sunflower you get beans which you cannot reach, so be careful. However it sounds like a fun project to try and big sun flowers are amazing. I want to try a sunflower wall sometime. Happy gardening.

Look up Josh's posts -- in one of them he has a pic of himself standing by a huge sunflower in his SFG. Can't remember if he had plants growing up it or not. But the flower was amazing.
