Any input on which of these to use for creepy bugs crawling at night.
I have a zillion of the sow bugs in my compost pile, they work there...LOL
Then of course they are carried into my garden where I do not want them...Evil or Very Mad

I'm going to possibly use all 3 of these or maybe only 1 if you have any ideas as to which one.
My fall crops are being eaten alive by the sow bugs..
I am also going to place small containers around new plants and coat the edge with tanglefoot,
this I know will help keep bugs away.
Waiting for ideas.....Diatomaceous Earth vs Kaolin Spray ( surround ) 3170584802

Tanglefoot will get the good as well as the bad. Are you actually seeing damage in the garden caused by the sow bugs?

Yepper damaged all the small pak choi's, broccoli, swiss chard's a mess. kohlrabi is doing fine.
I went out last night at midnight and their all over the place.
When I run my fingers through the mix I have all sizes of them.
They are also all over my wife's flower beds, cute little buggers, however I don't want them.
You mention good bugs ? I've never seen any bugs in my garden that I consider good.
Went out to take some pics but batteries were dead, will have some later on..

Jimmy, I don't know what Tanglefoot or Kaolin do. I know that DE Earth did little for me.It's gotta stay fairly dry for it to work.
I got some Sluggo Plus, it is for snails, slugs(I had lots of both) and insects, numerous, including pill bugs. The Sluggo plus uses spinosad for the insects. Over the yrs. I've had slugs and lots of insects, especially pill bugs and millipedes. This is the first product that has worked for me.

I use DE but not for sow bugs, just for worms & slugs. I sprinkle it under each plant and on the leaves when they are damp so that once it dries it doesn't blow off. But it does have to be reapplied after heavy rain, which we haven't had much of here this year.

The only bugs I ever see in my garden are these sow bugs, in the zillions, all sizes right down to baby pinheads.
I know where they come from, my compost piles are full of them, as they apparently should be.
Here are pics of the damage they cause.

I've been out all hours of the night, this is the only time bugs are visibly active in my garden.
The sowbugs are the only bugs I see.
They seem to favor certain plants, don't like kohlrabi, and any of the herbs I have going.
Today I planted a new crop of pak choi, swiss chard, romaine and broccoli, around the plants I place a small and larger container, some tanglefoot on the lip of some..
Will have some pics tomorrow of this new idea of mine.
I love this idea of SFG and nothing in this world is going to defeat me.. I love the challenge..
JUST HOPE I HAVE THE TIME TO DEAL WITH IT.....Diatomaceous Earth vs Kaolin Spray ( surround ) 3170584802

One other thought, we have an abundant colony of moles in our area, could they be causing this ?????
I do have the hardware under the Mel's Mix, however what about on top at night ????

Today I was preparing some squares for planting the fall seedlings that are ready for transplant.  When I removed the wood chips to add the new home brewed compost, there were tens and tens of sow bugs. What a Face Not to mention the black ants scurrying around with their eggs or larva.  I dusted the ants with baby powder.

I tried heating the chips in the oven, but they didn't get above 100* after 40 minutes at 200*.  So I black-bagged them to bake in the sun for a few days.  I don't want to put critters right back in the refreshed beds.  Found 3 slugs last night so it's definitely time for the Sluggo Plus.

This is the worst year ever for pill bugs (rolly pollies)...they've decimated my cucumber stems and leave scars all over the cucumbers...thousands of them.  Didn't have hardly any last year.  I'll need to get them under control before the fall beets, carrots, spinach, lettuce, cauliflower, and cabbage are damaged.

I have used DE last year on pill bugs and it worked fine for me.  I put it on both the plants and soil several times and they went away.  This year I have some Sluggo Plus and it seem to work well too.  I think it is a bait product and the pill bugs are supposed to be attracted to it but am a little suspect with all the green vegetation out there as well and you cannot put it directly on the plants.

To find the pill bugs I just wait till it is dry, water the garden and in 20-30 minutes they are all over the place.
