Can UAV's beat GMO's?
UAV=unmanned aerial vehicle
UAS=unmanned aircraft system
UGV=unmanned ground vehicle
Research is being conducted using UAV's with cameras to visually log GPS coordinates of weed infestations in commercial beet fields. (beets are one of the top GMO crops in the U.S.) The data is then sent to a computer to map the field. The map is sent to a UGV that goes out into the field to apply herbicide only where it is needed, rather than broadcasting the entire field. The automated system will greatly reduce the amount of herbicides used along with the associated environmental damage.

Well, I try to only buy pure cane sugar instead of beet or 'regular' sugar.
About the UAV's, they turned a couple of them loose in SC, but 'they' didn't tell anyone what they were doing, just testing them, I guess. Well, a farmer got out his gun and they were no more. Flying over a beet field is ok, but not to see what folks are doing/growing, etc.

What is the price of cane sugar , here in Australia its AUS $1.9 for 2 kilograms home brand CSR brand is double that .

The farmer was sued, and the judge said"keep it on your property only"
Sugar prices vary a lot even from store to store
WM: $2.90 for 5 lbs-regular sugar

Good to see intelligent use of technology to reduce the amount of chemical use and even better to see it is being used to target the quarry
