Help-I need a new composter
Hi Guys and Gals
I have had a change around in the garden. Moved everything around. Tried to get all my veggies and fruit bits/ beds TT's e.t.c in one place. The problem now is I'm short of space (Yeah I know were all short of space when it comes to growing:lol: )
I need your wisdom. What compost bins or tumblers would you choose to buy and why?. I have a darlic type bin. Big and round and ugly - but useful.
I need something a bit smaller, that works quicker if thats possible:studious: thanks

Why buy anything, can't you just build a pile on the ground? If you are required to contain the compost, I have found that chicken fencing around metal posts works very well.

Minimum dimension for a ground pile to work efficiently is 3'x3'x3'. Frenchbean said he wants something smaller than a darlic type bin and that works more quickly. So piling it on the ground isn't a solution. Especially since it seems they just spent a good amount of time and effort re-organizing their garden space (and commented that the darlic is ugly) and are therefore probably into the aesthetics of the space as well as the efficiency.
I know our admin Rooster has a tumbler type composter that he referred to as a composting machine - churning out useable compost in just a couple of weeks. Perhaps he'll be along and can tell you what type he has. Of course, with those you do have to have a separate pile that you load from.

I have had success with even smaller dimension of 2x2x2. I made the little bin out of one pallet. It works if you need it to.

To be honest Im knackered. I have moved the whole garden around on my own. Trying to get some order. My garden needs to be functional, easy on the eye. Everything must have its place. 
Im fed up with it being a mess

Kay thankyou:youRock: Some great ideas there. I have an old wormery bin so could make the trash can com poster. I went on tube as well and saw the turning tumblers. Great ideas
