New Forum Editor
As you can tell the forum has a new editor. This actually is an update from forumotion and NOT something we can opt out of at this time. Honestly, I'm kinda liking it
I'm just getting off work, and haven't had much time to mess with it, but from what I've seen, it does have some good features.
I've not had time to read up on it fully, but for those who would like more info:
http://help.forumotion.com/t124671-only-topic-new-editor
To leave your opinions:
http://help.forumotion.com/t120009-new-forumotion-updates-your-opinion
You will have to create an account on forumotion to use the above link. I suggest doing so if you have any opinions, positive or negative.

One thing I have noticed is that when you are waiting for a picture to load, you can keep typing as the little box disappears, however I am not sure if it permanently disappears ???
I cannot read the emoticon page...perhaps it is my old eyes:)

Re: New Forum Editor
My eyes are the same age as yours and the emoticons are not user friendly being so tiny. But I've hung out here long enough where many of them are memorized, especially the ones that wiggle around. But for a few others I briefly switch on the computer zoom feature. So far this new forum editor thing stinks, it does nothing special for a non techie like myself. This emoticon thing makes it harder and annoying, not easier.

I can certainly live with it. I am not going to get hung up complaining about something I cannot change........

If you go to the link Rooster put up, you'll see how the complaints clearly outnumber positive responses.

Exponent button? Where?
Click on the MORE button. That is the button with the square box and 3 dots in the middle. When you click on the MORE button, you will get MORE choices.
On my screen, after you click on the MORE button, just to the right of the MORE button are 2 symbols. The exponent button is this one X2. After you type in the exponent then you have to hit the exponent button again or you will get this exponent typing.
So type in your number.
93
click on the MORE button
click on the exponent button and then type the 0
930
Then click on the exponent button again to get rid of the small typing. Except it took a lot of clicks and deleting for me to get back to regular typing.

Re: New Forum Editor
I will say this, whenever changes are made, most times you see more complaints. Usually it's because the complainers complain. Those who could care less or are satisfied, usually say nothing so it always seems like more are unhappy. Either way, it's beyond our control at this point (at least for the time being). Sorry.
Also, using a degree symbol has always been an option. Google is your friend on this one.

Yolos, see if this is easier to get the real degree symbol:
Type this:
& deg ;
But take out the spaces before and after 'deg', and you'll get °
98°

That's cool and a lot easier. Thanks boffer and rooster. The easiest one is rooster's alt key and the number 248. But I will never remember either one. Maybe I should make this thread a favorite because it has always annoyed me that I couldn't use the degree symbol.
Okay, since we are discussing things that have annoyed me, how about an easy way to spell check.

Put a sticky note by your computer. That or you can always Google "how to make degree symbol".
Most browsers allow you to install a spell check extension. Just make sure and enable it if you do.

GWN, do you mean use the quote bubble button? Usually I hit the reply with a quote button and then do a lot of cutting and pasting. it looks like with the new quote bubble button this may make multiple quote in a reply easier to manage.

If all this is req. to get that little symbol, deg is just 3 clicks.
Also, my eyes are getting old too, but the rest of me refuses to go along.
I guess the rest of the world is going hi-tech, and we must move ahead.
880 now, not so hard, but to quit doing the exponent, took some doing.
As far as the emotions, if you hover over 1, it will show a little bit bigger copy, but not much bigger!
I found this thread, because I had a problem with posting, but, now cannot remember what it was!
Oh, I found it. When you get to the bottom of the typing screen and hit enter to go to the next line, it won't show you where the cursor is. You must just start typing blindly, then the line shows. I guess it's not a big deal, just have to learn again, there goes the age thing again!

Ok, what did I do wrong? In my last post, I hit the quote button, then completed my post, as usual.
It put what I wrote in with the "quote" box.

I saw this last night and want to mention something about it but my kids had other plans. But it looks to me at least to be more user friendly and I can find the smiles better but I'll agree with everyone that they are kinda small. If that is the only complaint though I can live with it.
