I followed the recommendations for soil and fertilizer from the book. And now this absolutely perfect growing weather is making my Savoy cabbage look like its growing in a nuclear garden!

Unfortunately I didn't plan my planting boxes very well. And the cabbage is so huge its covering up shorter pants like carrots and peppers.

Can I trim a few of the outer leaves without doing damage to what looks to be some killer cabbage?

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll trim those leaves and put them in the Vitramix.

Pictures are coming.

I would trim them, zap them in the microwave for a minute or two and make stuffed cabbage for supper. What a Face

Hi ,
Savoy is a colder weather cabbage no wonder it's gone bananas on you . I holds well to a week of minus 5 o C after that or much lower it gets trashed unless you use bolt croppers or tree loppers to cut them all off and store frozen inside a thick layer of straw.

Thanks. The weather has been absolutely perfect so Mother Nature can take a lot of the credit.
