Hello everyone, another newbie from GA
Hello, just bought Mels book and I am beginning the process of setting up two 4'x4' appx raised beds. I live about 20 min north of Savannah, GA. I'm looking forward to seeing how these new beds turn out once I get them set up Anyone else close to Savannah?

Welcome Badrvgrl. There are a number of us active on this site from Georgia. I am in Brooks about 25 miles south of Atlanta.
Jazzycat is in Savannah. I am sure she will be along shortly.

Re: Hello everyone, another newbie from GA
Hey Badrvrgrl! I live in Savannah and this is my first year gardening, and square foot gardening as well. (Well, serious gardening. I did a little gardening once, but it was nothing and I had no idea what I was doing. I mostly did it because a friend was doing it, so I said, why not? This time, I did a lot of research and read books and joined the forum here. Hopefully I'll be more of a success this time around. )
I have one self-watering 3x12 bed and a bunch of self-watering containers I've been making out of pickle buckets I get from the deli at Publix.
If you can make it into town this weekend for Earth Day at Forsyth Park, I have a bunch of organic tomato plants I'm going to be donating to people. Stop in and get one!
And welcome! You will love it here. Lots of great folks who love to share information.
