tomato cages
Do any of you use tomato cages in your gardens? I was concerned about putting holes in the weed cloth. I used them last year and had tons of weeds and grass but not sure if it was just time to empty the beds and refill or if the holes allowed stuff to grow through. How do you stake your tomatoes.

Re: tomato cages
I cage my tomatoes but I also do not put weed cloth under a bed, only in the paths. I have not noticed any particular weed problems around my tomatoes.
When you made your beds did you lay them on grass with out first digging the grass out? Some grass types, like bermuda and crab and quack grass all grow right through any weed cloth I have met so far.
