Black Die Mulch around the beds a problem?

Black Die Mulch around the beds a problem?
We are laying our first SFG beds and I have a question on a black die mulch. We had 6 yards delivered yesterday to put around our beds. I am not going to be using this inside the beds but around it as I plan on using MM. My concern is how it will be for any melons or other plants that come in contact with this mulch. I tried to get natural mulch but all they had was black die. Really concerned about the die and trying to stay mainly organic with this garden.

Do you mean dye (colored mulch?). It shouldn't be a problem if you're not mulching the beds themselves - I have red chips around mine and I've seen plenty of pictures from people who do the same.
