Flowers beds and potting soil
So - This is me just talking as just the average jane - I have a place outside my front wall - and yes I do mean wall - its cinder block, 6 feet tall and painted this pistachio green courtesy of the previous owners. Anyhow I thought to pretty it up I would plant a flower garden. It was suppose to be 25 feet by 2 feet - but ended up 3 feet wide and 25 feet long instead. I laid down weed mat - and then placed the border - I thought i would just buy the cheapest potting soil they had at home depot - save my some cash and use the "good" stuff for my SFG. So I took a moment to read all the bags - did you know that all the potting soil is is pearlite and mulch or cow manure all laced with extreme fertilizers ? I was actually appalled - I guess I have been spoiled but - yuck. I did not waste my time - I spent the few extra dollars and bought the Mel's Mix. And my flowers are LOVING me !!! I guess I really do bleed SFG.

Nice! Sometimes it's just worth spending the extra coin and not having to worry about the results.

Sorry it twisted but eh you get the idea lol - and I planted morning glories along the back and placed netting using screws drilled into the wall - I am hoping for a flower wall ...

Kellogg's Patio Plus, if you can find it. It does contain perlite, but is organic.
Before I began using MM, I used it instead of the existing amended soil, and the difference was striking! It can be used for container or in-ground planting.
The only downside of which I am aware is the probable need to fertilize each season.
