Romaine Lettuce In Growums Box
Many of you reading this are fans of John Kohler at www.growingyourgreens.com. He uses Mel's Mix plus Azomite in self-watering containers, and it was because of him that I discovered the Growums boxes. When Lowe's closed them out for $9.95, my wife and I visited three different stores buying what was left, which came to a baker's dozen.
These self-watering containers were rather easy to construct and fill with Mel's Mix. We added Azomite like Kohler, but then we also added Bio-Tone Starter Plus and Flower Tone to make what we are calling Mel's Mix +. Here is a picture of our Jericho Romaine lettuce (seeds obtained from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange) just three weeks after planting seeds.

Wow... very nice.
Your Jericho Lettuce looks perfect! Your boxes look very familiar. Today some friends delivered six "Earth Boxes." They gave them to us as a gift. When new, they retail for around 30 bucks. They also are self watering like yours and they appear to be about the same size as yours.
I had never heard of Southern Exposure, so I just downloaded a PDF of their catalog. Thanks for that lead!

Wow, so it looks like Lowes still has some of those boxes. I might go get some tomorrow, especially since I was planning on experimenting with using coconut coir in some of the containers, and these come with it. So YAY! *keeping fingers crossed that they have them*
