how many to plant?
Hi,
I started with SFG last year and kept some photos up for a wile, than I got too busy to keep posting, but I am still gardening. I just got my greenhous it is 9 * 15 and I want to plant cucumbers, sweet peppers and tomatoes in it. The one thing that just totaly eludes me is how many to plant of each. Last year was just about damage control in an overgrown, community plot which a guy abandoned and now I can start growing things.
So tips and suggestions for how many to plant of eacht will be appreciated. It is just me and hubby, and we eat a salad on most days for lunch and often as a side with dinner too.
Thanks
Annelies

Re: how many to plant?
Your first full year is probably going to be a big experiment as you find out what really grows well for you, what doesn't, and what you really find you like to eat. I can say from experience that, unless you make pickles, 4 cucumber vines is too many for only 2 people!

Re: how many to plant?
Hi Goosegirl,
glad to hear t hat, I just read a book that suggest 2-3 cucumber vines per person and to plant new ones every 4 week until 2 months before first frost. I was thinking, that is way too much. Personally I think 2-3 for the both of us for the season should do it.
I am so excited to find out how things work in a greenhouse and can't wait to put plants in and some seeds and see what happens.
Thanks
