Something ate the edges and also made holes in my spinach leaves last night. Oddly enough, that something hasn't eaten any of the kale nor collards in the same box. I have looked under every leaf and did not find a thing. I am not sure if I should use Neem oil or BT. Any suggestions?

I don't know what's eating your spinach, but mine were attacked by aphids a couple of weeks ago. I've been spraying with soapy water and knocking the aphids off an appear to have defeated them. The war is on!!!!

I stocked my organic arsenal and am ready to fight, LOL!

I also have grasshoppers that are munching seedlings. What do you do to kill them? I capture and squish them but don't know if there's anything I can spray to deal with any egg that are hatching?

This is the first time I have ever planted spinach so this is all new to me. I also checked for aphids and did not find any. I didn't find any worms either. It is probably some crazy nocturnal bug, partying on my spinach while I sleep.

Any reason to think it is not slugs?
It is just that that is the very first thing I think of with that kind of damage on greens. You would not necessarily spot them either. They could have moved on to another plant, or as it got warmer crawled under something to stay moist and out of the sun.
If you do a web search for damge on spinach by various pests, you can get an idea of what the assorted things look like, which will help you figure out what to do.

Could you post a picture of the damage? Some of us might recognize it. Also go out with a flash light after dark and see what might be lurking in your garden.

Night time damage, holes in the leaves...... my guess is slugs or snails.

They did the same to me - I had to re-seed a bunch of stuff. As a result I now have tulle covering my beds and my seedlings are no longer being decapitated. If you can't beat em, keep 'em out. Wink

I didn't see anything last night with a flashlight nor anything at dawn. Couldn't find any slimy trails either. Here are some pictures of my spinach...
