Last year was my first successful year gardening and first year with SFG. I had two beds one @ 14x4 and one 4x4. I had great crops of Tomatoes, Corn, Zuccinni, Lettuce, Broccoli, Peas and a few others. Due to a great opportunity for my wife we have up and left our home of 8 years and 1 acre yard, into a 3 bedroom apartment in Cornelius. A couple weeks ago I went back home and took apart my 4x4 bed and put all the MM in trash bins for future use. The larger bed is still up and I had added my own compost just before leaving. My inlaws are still staying at our home in Apex so I can probably get periodic fresh stuff. But My MIL is 73 and don't expect her to do too much.

I may be reaching out a bit but, Is there anyone close to Cornelius who might have some intel on a community garden. I tried looking on line but nothing is real definitive. Should I just suck it up this year in this area and wait until we buy our next house for next year? What are the best farmers markets to go to? We are right across the street from The Fresh Market and they have been getting my business for the last week or so. I am really not looking forward to supermarket tomatoes this year. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a sunny deck or patio, go for it! You could even grow tomatoes vertically in pots with support, or in 2'x4' or 2'x8' beds.

Are there any single-family residences in your neighborhood? If so, you might offer some friendly soul a deal: you grow in their yard, they get 50% (or whatever percentage) of the produce.

Unfortunately the only 3 bedroom that was available has the deck facing North. Good advice though. Thanks.
