peas keep small
About a week ago my peas and snowpeas were around 5 cm ( 2"). But now they still are that same size. I would have expect them to grow a couple of cm in a week. Is this normal and will they go fast later or should I get worried?

Re: peas keep small
I am not sure what your weather has been but if it's been chilly cell division will slow. Patience, they will grow!
Re: peas keep small
Hi PeeVee
I can offer experience with pole/vine peas. They grow like my son did. Same height forever. But buy him a new pair of pants, and he would have outgrown them before we got home from the store!
Peas can handle cool/cold weather OK, but like camprn said, cool weather slows them down a lot. Wait until you get one hot day, and you can almost see them grow!
Happy gardening,

thanks for thr reassuring words. We had a couple of fairly warm days and everything seems to grow fast now, except for the peas and broad beans. But I am probably just impatient. It has been 4 weeks and 3 days since I planted the seeds, so I expected some harvest by now...

Re: peas keep small
Hi Peevee, my peas and sugarsnaps are also slow with the cold wheather we're having at the moment, and I even cover 'em up every night when frost is predicted...But when I compare photo's from last week with how they look now, they've definitely grown a bit. It's just that you don't see the difference when you watch 'em every day

When sitting in the sun in a place with no wind it feels good, but I think you are right Mirjam, when you say it is actually a bit cold weather. The northerly winds do make it a bit chilly (and they keep air travellers on the ground ....).
