Hello from South Carolina!
I'm just getting started! When I was young, my Dad gardened the old fashioned way...rows and rows, and tons of grass invasion. My husband and I have decided to give this a go.
However, to save a bit of money, we've decided to! use milk crates (or a version of them) lined with landscape fabric. We're hoping this will make the plants a little more portable.
I'll let you know how it goes!

The container can be varied. The important thing is getting the Mel's Mix right.

At first thought this seems like a good container - you can fit them together with no waste space, as with buckets. I've considered them myself.
But I wonder how long that plastic will last. Ultraviolet light breaks down plastics badly, and I would expect them to get very brittle over time. Perhaps the darkest colored ones would hold up the longest.
