an app for that
Just wanted to tell all you seeds starters out there about a very cool app I just discovered while trying to find info for another thread.
Mother earth news has an app called. When to plant.
It zeros in on your address and then provides charts for what you should be planting, then click on the plant and it tells you more about that specific plant.
The COOLEST thing is that it JUST TOLD ME that I should be planting Eggplant
Janet..... who is putting eggplant seeds on a piece of wet paper towel, putting that in a baggie, then planting the whole thing on top of the hot water tank

Janet did you actually check it againts the last frost date for your area and Mels charts ... several apps have come up with little gems like major cities in the middle of the Atlantic .
As it is so new I'd suggest running it alongside checks you know are sound for a few months or more.

Re: an app for that
I live in Canada and people are very sparse here, and so to get an accurate last frost is incredibly hard when there are no weather stations around.
So what the App said was exactly what the last frost was last year, and good enough for me...
Plus actually the app got my address perfectly, right down to the right side of the street.
So I am happy with it.. so far.

Theres an app for that
There is one, Google Play. Search for Garden Time Planner by Burpee. Been using it for a couple of weeks and the database only has veggies and herbs now, but might get updated soonRoOsTeR wrote:Bummer. Only available for Apple...Where's the Android Love?!
