hi, i'm new to this and am just learning about this gardening. i will be trying it for the first time this spring.

Welcome to the forum!! It's a great hobby to start and the more you learn the more you will enjoy it! Have you read Mel Bartholomew's All New Square Foot Gardening book yet? It will give you everything you need to know to start and succeed with square foot gardening! Keep us posted on your progress and have fun!

Welcome to the forum. From experience, this method works great in Tennessee. Living in Shelbyville, you should have easy access to compost ingredients. Just make sure your horse manure gets composted. If you need extra compost, there is a wonderful compost farm east of Franklin on Hwy. 96. It is $12 for 40 pound bag, or they will deliver.
