I know you're not supposed to can jars of different volumes at the same time - a quart jar and a pint jar together is a no no.

If the volume of the jar is the same but the shape is different, then can they go in the canner together? So a can a Ball Elite pint jar that is squat/wide mouth and a pint jar that is a traditional taller size go into together?

Picked up 3 Ball pint sized but squarish jars at Goodwill that were still in the plastic wrap for $1.50. (Someone used one, but not the other 3. I was so happy to find these.)

Thanks.

Yes, a pint is a pint, they are the same by volume. Great find considering the price of the Elite line of canning jars.

Thanks!

Of all the things I canned in pint jars last year, I think the apple jam will work best in these Elite pint jars. Pretty, gift-able, and the fruit will have less room to float up to at top.
