2nd year SFGer, totally addicted!
Hello! I started a raised SFG last year, and loved it so much we have built an additional 2 SFG, with plans for at least one more. I feel like such a moron-I have been on other garden sites, but none really touch on SFG as much as I would like. I can't believe I have read Mel's book 300 times, and it only just occured to me there would be a web site! Thank you all in advance for your advice and patience!

WOW! 300 times! I hope you have the newest SFG book which is titled, "ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening". It is an easier read than the original and lays out a much simplified way to garden. Published in 1995 and revised in 1996 - this is a must read for any SFG'er.
As you may have found out the SFG Forum was up and running for several years and in the past 6 weeks has been totally reworked and released in this format. A number of new items/enhancements are in the works including a search-able data base on Vermiculite locations in the U.S. and abroad. So welcome to the SFG forum and family. If you have questions this is the place to ask. If you have answers to someone's question or more information on a post please help your fellow gardeners by posting. Each of us learn from each question and answer given.
God Bless and welcome to the family, Ward.

Dessertgirl: Where did you buy your vermiculite for Mel's Mix and how much did you pay? The new vermiculite data base is growing as people send their info in.
God Bless, Ward.

I got mine at Rehm's nursery on Lomas blvd. I cleaned out their 6 bags of vermiculite, and supplemented with an additional 2 bags of perculite.I gave them a heads up to keep vermiculite in stock, as I have heard it is tough to find.
