Work Day Fun
Had to get out and do a little work before the rain starts this weekend...
After grabbing coffee, headed to ReStore (Habitat for Humanity warehouse) thinking about buying some windows for making cold frames, instead found 10 of these heavy duty plastic trays used to ship tulip bulbs...$.25 each. Thought I could use them in starting seeds, holding flats, sifting compost, portable gardens, etc. I'd like to do small pvc walk-in hoop house instead of cold frames.
Back home I decided to put up my new Geo-Bin compost system (won a door prize at a local seed exchange last weekend)...basically transferred an existing ground pile (manure, shredded leaves, kitchen scraps) into this bin, layering in some new green/ nitrogen, bonemeal, aerated, added moisture, etc.
...had a little help
...and found some other helpers at the bottom of the old comost pile.

What a clean truck
It really is amazing what you can find wandering through restore stores...
I am always finding things to use for cloches....old vases etc...

Very nice things from Restore. Have one of those stores 20 minutes from here, must make my way over there. Hopefully find some goodies like you did.

Re: Work Day Fun
The Restore near me had a moving sale (everything 50% off)...they had tons of new and old windows. I was hoping to find good lengths of pvc pipe for a hoop house but no luck. Good thing is that they will be re-opening soon at a new location just a few minutes away from our place.

Here's another cool find from ReStore...an old drawer used for printing type...thought it would make a nice shadow box...or a display like one might find in a fly shop (I'm a fly tyer).
