Kohlrabi
I've never tried planting or eating kohlrabi. I'm going to try it next year. I need some basic information.
Best season to grow?
Seed or transplant?
How many to a square? (Okay I can probably noodle that one out myself)

This is my first year growing Kohlrabi. I opened this thread to give an observation about the growth of the white vs the purple. But I saw camprn's reference to folia and looked up the Kohlrabi and discovered why my white kohlrabi matured way before the purple even started setting a bulb. Duhhhh? The white kohlrabi was an early variety. So I guess my observation would be that the early white variety all has formed bulbs, one tennis ball size (which I harvested) and the rest golf ball size. The purple variety (which is not an early variety) has not formed any bulbs yet.

We have both in the garden , they have even survived a light frost . Usually by now they would have been eaten by us three at least two months ago but the year has been cold and wet so they've hung back .
We have had some whoppers out of quality deep MM .. The biggest being 5 & 1/2 inches across , which was as juicy crunchy and delicious as you could ever wish them to be
