I have tons of it and am wanting to dig up a few of them so I can lift my SFG and put that thick fabric underneath....
But would like to somehow preserve it
I did try Kale chips, but... was not fond of them I then put them through the blender and have added that to a few dishes, but
can you just freeze it in a bag.

I think it is frozen in commercial un blanched shredded form for use in packs of stew , soup veg s and chinese stir fry's though it is in very small amounts.

I have had no probs eating it straight from the freezer boiled for 5 min in boiling water with a pinch of salt .
You need to freeze it as soon as it is shredded , then spread it on a tray so it freezes fast then vac seal it in portion size bags . Once a bag is opened use it all in one go .

Try some and see what you think

Late summer, early fall kale benefits by being cooked Southern style: saute some chopped bacon until rendered. Poor off some of the fat, then add chopped onion, cook awhile. Add minced garlic and cook for a SHORT time or you'll burn it. Add rinsed, trimmed kale to the pot, salt it a bit, add more water if needed (or broth, which is a nice touch). Let the kale mix braise until tender and tasty. Serve with dinner, or make it an almost full-meal-deal with cornbread, sliced tomatoes, and a pork cutlet. Enjoy. Nonna (who made PapaVino a convert to Southern cooking by meals very like unto the above kale dish.)

I always cook a big pot of kale in just salted water, eat what I want for dinner and package and freeze the rest in meal sizes. Reheat the frozen kale in the microwave in a covered serving dish and you don't need to add more liquid and don't have a pot to wash.

Kale used to be available in packages just like frozen spinach, but I haven't seen them in ages. My boys used to come in from school and cook up a package for a snack. They would also hit a dish of bell pepper, carrot and celery sticks if they found one in the fridge. I know, weird kids who loved their veggies.

Nice one kay thanks ,
I never thought to pre cook it , but that is advantageous for we look like having a large glut in a few weeks time .

Our Munchkin would like the idea of snip a vac pack open , nuke it , do the same with the meat then peel a couple of spuds & carrots for nuking as well .

Like Kay, I precook it then freeze. I wash it, spin it dry so that it is not totally dry, and tear the leaves into smaller pieces. Then, I saute it in oil and garlic until just wilted, then portion and freeze. YUM. I have converted my husband into a cooked greens man.
