Rare cucumber
Cucumber from India: Sikkim cucumber, which turns a most disconcerting brick red when fully ripe. Young, small cukes from it are very much like a pickling cucumber. In fact, we used lots of them to make jars of brine-cured pickles, and the results are delicious! We grew it both in the greenhouse and in an outside bale bed. Both set fruit generously--sometimes too generously. Would like to trade for some other unusual vegetable to experiment with. Nonna

Trade
I have an unusual pepper that originated from Tobago. There it is called the "Flavor Pepper" and is used in traditional Tobagan dishes. Although a hot pepper, it is not so very hot. When fully mature it is red in color and about 2 to 3 inches long. Heavy bearer and here on Kauai this pepper plant will produce for a couple years before starting to deteriorate.
Would be happy to trade for your red cucumber seeds.
Aloha,
Burky

Re: Rare cucumber
I realize this thread is old but I would be interested in the Sikkim Cucumber if you still have good seed for it. I can offer Mini Mexican Sour Gherkin (aka Cucamelon), Ground Cherry (Cape Gooseberry), or Spoon Tomato (a currant variety) - though I only have a few seeds of each available, I only need a few seeds.
