First time gardener, new on Forum

Hi!

I just started reading Mel's book, and I am almost done! I’t been a great read and I’m anxious to start gardening right away, but I am new to gardening and I was wondering if it is too late to start a fall crop here in San Antonio, TX. What crops would you recommend for this area and our weather this time of year?

Plenty of helpful folks on here. Here is another link you may find helpfull. http://www.motherearthnews.com/Organic-Gardening/What-To-Plant-Now.aspx just find your region then choose what month it give ya what to plant. Now you can plan your year.

It's a great time to start in the San Antonio area. I just moved away and already miss Texas.
In fact, I gardened in the Winter, Spring, and Fall when I lived there ( New Braunfels) and took a break in the Summer due to the oppressive heat and humidity.

City of Austin also puts out some great info for gardening in the area, as does TAMU like another post said.

You can garden Year round in the San Antonio area. And with the water efficiency of a SFG, you won't need to watch the aquifer so close!
