AUS: Climate zones compared to US zones
Was hunting for more information on climate zones in Australia and found this link which compares Aussie climate zones to the US climate zones.
As far as I can tell Sydney is the same as US zone 10.

Yes, I was doing some research on plantings, and I think your zones do correlate to the US zones somewhat(I'm a big fan of permaculture).
